Project Description
Nkululeko High School near Gweru is another prime example on how extended power cuts affect
students and their ability to study in the evenings. Prior to our 5KVA power backup installation Nkululeko went through weeks without any grid electricity supplies and made school a tough experience for
all students and lecturers based at Nkululeko. Phase 1 with the dining area as the central power house is now completed and serves as the “study” with 60 CFL Energy saver light bulbs for
sufficient lighting installed. This is hopefully the start for an extended lighting system also reaching all dormitories and most offices in the near future.
